HAMDD SPECIAL EVENTS
Our love of the arts and the teaching of them to aspiring students have made Hampton Academy of Music, Dance, and Drama one of the premier performing arts schools in Hampton Roads. With a combined total of more than 125 years of performing arts teaching experience among our staff. Our students attend this academy from Hampton, Newport News, Suffolk, Poquoson, and York County. We offer lessons to students from 3 years old to adults.
While you are here researching the best school for you,
please consider the benefits of becoming an Academy student.
1. We are the only private studio in Hampton or Newport News that provides instruction in music, dance, and drama under one roof.
This saves you time and money as one family can take multiple classes.
2. We offer the most popular classes.
(piano, bass guitar, guitar, drum set, voice), dance styles (hip-hop, ballet, tap, jazz), and drama classes.
3. A qualified teaching staff who will teach you what you want to learn.
Our teachers have university degrees and/or professional performance experience. Our teachers are dedicated to learning about your personal musical goals and helping you to achieve them. "Professional and patient" describes our great staff.
4. We teach the art of discipline here.
Discipline is necessary to develop the tools needed for success,
to build confidence and self-esteem.
5. Continuous Growth.
Your child has the option of continuous study for an entire year vs. a 6-8 week average session you may find in recreational centers. Here is an opportunity to measure real growth.
6. A maximum return on your investment.
Small drama and dance class sizes contribute to more individual attention without your child getting lost in large class settings.
Hampton Academy promotes self-discipline and a sense of self-control that can contribute to the development of a student’s total personality and attitude toward life. Piano, voice, drums, and guitar classes form the foundation of musical offerings.
Hampton Academy “strives to teach our students the art of dance, not just how to perform dance steps”. It is important that teaching the fundamentals of dance is a top priority when instructing young students.
Hampton Academy students participate in hands-on activities, improvisation exercises, games, vocal projection exercises and other exciting challenges. They are designed to strengthen their on-stage skills and build technique that culminates in unforgettable experiences.
